Iseum Savariense Research Centre and Archaeological Collection bemutatása

A spectecular building complex dedicated to the Goddess Isis stood in this area in the Roman times. The worshippers could enter it through an enormous columned front hall from the Amber Road. The central building of the cult was a podium temple in the coutryard, which has been reconstructed with modern building materials according to its ancient layout. The temple and the courtyard were surrounded by columned halls (porticus) on three sides. These halls are represented nowadays as a modern building raised above the ancient walls, in which you can visit our permanent exhibition called "The home of Isis in Savaria" and various temporary exhibitons.
On the ground floor of our Information Center you can visit an exhibiton based on the archaeological research on the Iseum in Savaria.
